For the next ten years Steven built deep expertise in commercial litigation as an associate with three of the nation’s most prestigious law firms. He specialized in product liability and mass tort litigation for three years as a litigation associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; broadened his practice to include commercial litigation after joining the New York office of Dechert Price & Rhoads; and in 1999 began working for Jay Goldberg, P.C., a high-profile trial practice. He left Jay Goldberg, P.C. in 2003 to form the Law Offices of Steven D. Isser.
Trial-Driven Strategy
Steven specializes in complex commercial litigation and provides clients with creative, zealous and effective representation. Because of his trial experience, he conducts pre-trial discovery based on trial strategy. As a result, he is not only able to achieve success in front of the jury, but also to develop the case in a manner that puts the client in a significantly stronger position during settlement negotiations and motion practice.
Trial Experience
Steven has extensive experience in various types of complex civil commercial litigation, including trials in both federal and state court concerning, among other issues, claims for conversion; breach of contract; goods sold and delivered; whether a plaintiff was a partner in a real estate development company; and whether the majority shareholder of a corporation had diverted corporate funds to the detriment of the minority shareholder.
Representative Disputes
Steven has also represented clients in lawsuits concerning, among other things, internal disputes between partners, shareholders and limited liability company members, breach of contract claims, tortious interference claims, commercial fraud claims, wrongful discharge claims, employment discrimination claims and commercial real estate disputes.
