About Foley Shechter Ablovatskiy

We're lawyers, we love what we do, and it makes all the difference. We represent companies at every stage, from formation to IPO and beyond.

Our firm

Not your typical law firm

FSA didn’t start in a conference room with a business plan and market analysis. It started because we were tired of how big law firms treated clients — like files to be processed and hours to be billed. We left prestigious Wall Street firms not because we wanted to build something different, but something better.

We’re entrepreneurs who happen to be lawyers, and we built this firm the way we’d want to be represented: with expertise, accessibility, and actual human connection. What began as a small practice has grown into a boutique firm that represents groups ranging from scrappy founder teams sketching out their first equity split to executives and boards of NASDAQ-listed companies navigating complex SEC or listing exchange matters.

Big firm expertise, without the big firm problems

Here’s what we bring to the table from our big firm backgrounds: deep expertise in securities law, corporate finance, M&A, and capital markets. Relationships throughout the financial and regulatory ecosystem. The ability to handle sophisticated, complex transactions that would overwhelm smaller general practice firms. We’ve collectively closed hundreds of millions in financing transactions, guided companies through IPOs and alternative public offerings, navigated SEC enforcement matters, and structured deals that Wall Street banks and institutional investors respect.

Here’s what we left behind: the bureaucracy, the endless meetings about meetings, the partners who haven’t talked to a client in five years, the associates who bill you for learning on the job, and the pricing models designed to maximize revenue rather than deliver value. We price our work reasonably because we can — our overhead is lower and our egos don’t require corner offices with art budgets. More importantly, we actually answer our phones and emails, we know your business because we take the time to learn it, and we give you strategic advice, not just legal opinions.
